In 1975, Alan Loncto announced his first air show. He co-founded Northeast Airshows with three aerobatic pilots in the Spring of 1976. At the end of a 29-year period, they had access to 52 different airplanes that they used in their air shows.
These shows included everything from aerobatics to Warbirds, antiques, parachute jumpers and a hot air balloon and Alan continued as Director/Narrator throughout those years. He was instrumental in forming The Iron Eagles Aerobatic Team with two Super Eagle biplanes and was the team narrator for 23 years. During those years, he was also the announcer at The Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Rhinebeck, N.Y. for 7yrs. The Aerodrome is world renowned for flying W.W.I aircraft, many original, and is a very popular place to visit.
He has been involved in aviation most of my life, growing up near an airport in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Additionally, he is an aviation artist, working in pencil and colored pencil also dabbling with oil painting, (although not very well).
Now retired, Alan is married with two grown children and two grandchildren. He resides in the country in Westhampton, Massachusetts and lives near three airports, one AFRB, one National Guard base and one local airport.
